The government denies deducting part of the endowment funds in favor of the public treasury to implement national projects

The government has monitored news spread on some websites and social media pages regarding the deduction of part of endowment funds in favor of the state treasury to implement national projects.

And the Media Center of the Council of Ministers stated in an official statement that it had contacted the Ministry of Endowments, and it categorically denied these reports, stressing that it is not true to deduct any of the endowment funds in favor of the state’s public treasury to implement national or other projects.

And she stressed that the endowment funds are of a special nature that cannot be touched, and are optimally exploited for the purposes designated for them according to the conditions of the endowers, explaining that the endowment revenues are employed in the service of the Islamic call, improving the conditions of imams, serving the Holy Qur’an, building mosques, and charitable works such as :

Contribute to the establishment and care of scientific, cultural, health and social institutions, such as schools and hospitals, and help the most vulnerable families, according to legal mechanisms and strict supervision by all oversight and accounting agencies in the country, in a way that contributes to community service in accordance with the legal conditions and controls regulating endowment affairs.
