France coach Didier Deschamps was keen to praise the Moroccan national team, before the upcoming confrontation of the two sides in the semi-finals of the 2022 World Cup.
And Deschamps led French national team To defeat England, with two goals to one, during the match that took place between them on Saturday evening, in the quarter-finals of the tournament World Cup 2022.
This came a few hours after Morocco’s historic national team qualified for the semi-finals, beating Portugal 1-0 in the quarter-finals.
The French national team set a date with Morocco, next Wednesday, as part of the 2022 World Cup Golden Square matches.
Deschamps said in televised statements after the England match: “The Moroccan national team deserves praise, and we will start preparing for them with full force in order to achieve victory and reach the final match.”
He added, “We will prepare for the Moroccan national team with full force, as it has proven to everyone its strength, even though it was not among the candidates to reach the golden square.”
He continued, “We will do our best to beat Morocco and qualify for the semi-finals and continue the journey to defend the title.”
Deschamps touched on talking about the England match, saying: “The English presented strong levels and were close to achieving victory against us, but we succeeded in the end.”
He concluded by saying, “We played a fabulous match against England, as it was a strong team. We achieved an important victory, and we must enjoy the victory and then think about the semi-final.”
It is noteworthy that the French national team is the first title holder to qualify for the semi-finals in the next edition of the World Cup, since Brazil in the 1998 edition.
